Alexohol Does the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge!

For those of you who don't know, there's an awesome challenge started by Luna Jubilee, called the 52 weeks of color challenge. More info is available on her blog! Alexohol will be making at least one item for each week's color so stay tuned if you're into the challenge! I'm doing a little catch up for the first 5 weeks, so here they are!

A while ago I had a large blogger list that I frequently sent out my new releases to. BUT Rl kinda snuck up on me and I let it slip. SO I'm looking for some bloggers again!

What am I looking for?
I would like experienced bloggers who take time and care with their posts. To be eligible you must be an established blogger (have been blogging for at least 3 months), have high quality photos that display the clothing well, and those that credit items in their posts. Special consideration will be given to those that have blogged Alexohol items in the past.

What will be expected of bloggers:
I will send at least one color of any new releases I have (If I forget you're more than welcome to kick my butt!). I appreciate the amount of work that it takes to assemble a blog post, and will not expect you to blog every item that I send. However, to remain on the list I would ask that you blog regularly. I want blog posts that are inspired by my clothing. I don't want you to blog stuff you don't like, but I would ask that if you feel my style doesn't fit you, lease do not apply, or ask to be taken off the list. If there's other stuff in the store that you would like to blog, I'll gladly take requests! Also, I'd like for you to let me know when you post! (Either an IM, notecard, or email, whatever works!)

This week's Taste of Second Life is "Let Yourself Go!" It's a free week for our designers to do whatever they'd like! For a complete list of the items, check out the TOSL blog.

New this weekend is Wisconsin to the lineup.

This weekend we're featuring Wisconsin and Ohio State as they meet Saturday Night in Madison and selected items from both teams will be on Sale!

Also added to the lineup is West Virgina Mountaineers.

We are also working on repackaging all the exiting lines. This week Florida was repackaged and we even snuck in some in a few new items.

We've done some themed outfits over time, mostly for our Taste of Second Life events and hey, it's October and what better time to expand our line of costumes... So to the Biker Babe, Nurse, Naughty Schoolgirl, Gym Beam and coke , SportsCap, our pin up girls and Bavarian Alps girl, we've added some devils, angels and robin hood(ette). Are you thinking PINK? You should be as it's Breast Cancer Awareness month.

The TOSL this week is "Think Pink" in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. Although it is not a charity event, the designers participating are offering items to help you pay tribute. For a complete list of all the participants, check out the TOSL blog.

The Think Pink Lingerie set is out at Alexohol . The set is only 75L this weekend.

Alexohol Fashions is once again proud to join Making Strides Against Breast Cancer as part of the American Cancer Society. This entire month we will have donation kiosks in our main store and ask that when you come by for a hunt or just to check out our latest releases, you drop a few lindens into the kiosk! Last year our efforts with Pretty in Pink helped in raising over $30,000L and hope this year to top that!

Think Pink shop is now open and also has BCA items from Lacie Cakes, Glitterati, No Strings Attached and more coming soon!

Hey everyone! Here's whats new from Alexohol Fashions(psst there is a lot)!

New Yoga pants in a variety of colors that complete the fresh from or on the way to the gym look! This first release comes in a variety of colors and looks great with our casual tanks and tees for a comfy, yet sexy lying around on the couch, lazy SLunday look :)

All available for 100L each, fatpacks coming soon!

(Solid colors in Black, Brown, Pink, Baby Blue, Red, Grey, Purple, and Blue)

(Prints are in available in Grey Cammo, Green Cammo, Tiger and Zebra)

At our entrance, we have joined in with many other vendors and clubs across SL in support of the Haitian Earthquake victims and have placed a couple of items there, our hope for Haiti Yoga Pants and Hope for Haiti Hoodie that are 100L each and all L goes to the Red Cross International Relief Fund.

To date, SL'ers have donated over 2 MILLION lindens in support of the victims there and getting them basic services and needs. Several vendors have put out other items in support of the relief effort at Scribble.

If you've been by lately you've noticed we've said FAREWELL! ADIOS! ADEIU! & DON'T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU IN THE ASS TO THE WINTER BLUES with a totally new look to our landing area and the green areas around Alexohol with cherry blossoms, poppies and picnic area, 7Seas Fishing area with gifts FROM our store included with the prizes and more!

Spring has indeed sprung at Alexohol and to celebrate that.. We're in the process of organizing The Alexohol Mall Crawl (hey you just had to know we'd try to relate it to booze somehow!!) It will involve not only us but also the wonderful shops we've got out in our mall area! The dates will be 2/15 to 2/28 with more details to come! As some of you may know, Ema, Kylie and I have been planning a nifty little hunt called the Heat Wave for months on end! We've invited some of our favorite stores, sifted through applications, checked and re-checked landmarks, sent a million notecards, and done a LOT of designing to get this little beauty underway!

And let me tell you, we're not just saying it when we say we have 52 of SL's hottest designers in the hunt! I don't think even I could have hoped for as many fabulous stores as we have!

Movin' on Up...

WE HAVE MOVED!!!!!

WAIT? WHAT?

YES! WE HAVE MOVED!

BUT? BUT? Didn't we JUST finish a MAJOR renovation?

YES WE HAD! Our reward for our hard work getting things ready, opening a small area and filling it with some awesome designers to fill out your Alexohol style was our landowner allowing a large gaming, camping, lucky chair and freebieville in our back freaking yard and then saying that wasn't causing us to lag so badly we couldn't see, move, type or anything. We didn't panic tho! We went out and bought MORE LAND and we're NOW OPEN at our new, LAG free area in Fairytale

We put on our dresses and heels and got to work packing up to move.....Only this time, Ema stayed away. She peeked in one night to witness Kylie and Alex with hammers working hard--I know scary right.

That's right! We've got a beautiful new 1/2 sim and that's allowed us to add even more mall space for you to complete your look! We've added 8 more stores and they're filling up fast! Please IM AlexandraM Guisse or Kylie Krell if you are interested in one of the remaining spots.

TIS' the season to shop for your friends and loved ones in SL and, having tried to buy things for friends and not knowing whats hiding in their inventory--gift cards make great ideas and we've now added gift cards in 250L, 500L, 750L , 1000L and 2000L amounts! Look for them on the bar in a variety of Martini glasses!

Sooo I don't think you will believe me but there is some BIG, HUGE, EXTREME news, but you will have to wait til the weekend(or maybe at least til we are all set up)........

We are expanding again and have grown into 1/2 sim!

We'll be making some major changes to our mainstore coming over the next few weeks and that includes a mall with 16 shops for rent! We are looking to fill at least 8 of the stores right now. The stores are at a invite only basis and will need to be approved by Alex and Kylie right now.

Stores come in:

10x20m 50 prim shop $250/wk- Minimum of 2 weeks, max of 6 weeks.

20x24m 100 prim shop $400/wk- Minimum of 2 weeks, max of 6 weeks.

A new movement has started in Second Life!! Red Shirt Fridays are here!

I know I haven't blogged in a while, but it's due to my frantic designing! Kylie...well.."blogged" for a few months (2 posts total ;)) And now our wonderful Ema has taken over and done an absolutely fabulous job!   But, this post is special to me, and so, I'm stealing her duties!

So, what are red shirt fridays?

Red Shirt Fridays is a RL movement in which people wear red shirts every friday in a how of solidarity forour deployed military personel. This isn't a politcal movement....it's not a "pro war" statement...in fact, it's neither for or against the war. What Red Shirt Fridays IS, however, is a movement to support our TROOPS.   The people that are out there sacrificing years of their lives for everyone else's freedoms. RSF cares not if you support the political motivations of war...they care to show deployed troops and returning and old veterans that we appreciate their sacrifices. Red shirts are worn because our troops bleed red, and we will continue this tradition every friday "until they all come home"

As a Second Life movement, we are seeking to further this aim.   We would like to see everyone wearing Red Shirts, reguardless if they're "official" RSF shirts. BUT, we're also going to have vendors putting out RSF products to sell for a donation to a great charity, Operation Uplink. 100% of donations from RSF vendors will be donated to Operation Uplink!

So, what is Operation Uplink? Operation Uplink is a charitable organization started by the Veterans of Foreign War in RL. They seek sponsors and donations to allow cheap and free calls for deployed and wounded military personel around the globe.   Through Operation Uplink, they are able to provide cheap phone calls for troops. They are able to provide theese calls for just 4cents a minute or 60cents for a 15 minute phone call.   They also work with sponsors to provide "free call days" home.    For Red Shirt fridays in SL, we are donating our profits to this organization, because EVERY little bit makes a different. In Lindens, phone calls can be provided for L$10 for one minute or L$155 for a 15 minute call home.

Alexohol Fashions is starting this movement, but EVERYONE is welcome to participate...as a volunteer to get the word out, by just wearing a red shirt, or as a vendor of RSF products. Veteran's Day New Release

Hey everyone! Before we get to the Veteran's Day MEGA update with a ton of new Military tribute tops for men and women.... we would like to take a moment to remember and thank each and every US Veteran and Active duty or reserve service member for their dedication, hard work, courage and the sacrifice they have made to among other things, allow us ALL to enjoy freedoms such as Second Life! Alexohol is committed to showing support to our troops and veterans in any way we can and as been said here before, it's why we started Alexohol Fashions to begin with! Thank you once again to each and every one of you, and to your families as well.

Well, Alex has been a busy busy girl....she's managed to pump out a ton of ALL NEW US MILITARY tops for men and women and heeeeeerreeeeeee they are.... Tanks and Tees are L$100 each! The Hoodies in both men and women's with Prim attachments are only L$150 Each!!!

We've had a donation kiosk up at our mainstore for Operation Uplink for a few months now and by all reports, it's going very well! We'd like to help them push this very noble program that helps Military personnel abroad connect with loved ones back home and we're starting Red Shirt Fridays this week. Each week we will be making a new shirt to wear on Fridays in support of our troops and your donation will get you the shirt and the lindens sent to Operation Uplink! Red Fridays

In an effort to continue Alexohol Fashions commitment to supporting US Veterans Groups and associated charities, we are starting Red Fridays in SL.

What is Red Shirt Friday?

The mission of redshirtfridays.org is to show support for our servicemen and women as well as veterans. For more info on this organization, visit http://www.redshirtfridays.org/

So, what exactly are we starting?

Each week we will be putting out one red item for sale, typically it will be priced around L$100 and all sales from that vendor will be sent to Operation Uplink. Operation Uplink helps to connect active-duty troops and hospitalized veterans with their loved ones. More info on Operation Uplink is found on http://redshirtfridayssl.blogspot.com/.

What can you do?

Wearing red on Fridays is a good start, but that's not all.

We challenge each of you to join us in this endeavor. Any donation is appreciated but we're recommending something in the 50-100L range to hopefully broaden it's impact for Operation Uplink.

If you are a vendor or club that would like to also join along with us, please contact AlexandraM Guisse or Kylie Krell and we'll get you the associated materials and set up with links to the blog, etc.

Please note: We are not a political organization. We do not care whether or not one supports or does not support the war. We care only about making our support of our servicemen and women known to our fellow Americans and the world. We are a silent majority that does not wish to remain silent anymore. We need to let our servicemen and women know we support their sacrifice, we will not forget them and we will continue to wear red on every Friday.

60L Sundays, New Releases and Upcoming Release

Alexohol Fashions is proud to be a part of 60L Sundays! Every Sunday we will be putting out a special item marked for 60L for that day only! And we've got one of our new Beatles tees out today! Get your Black and White Beatles tee today for only 60L at the Mainstore.

SO what else is new?

Our Beatles tees have been such a success we've REMADE them! This time Black with fun colored writing! We've got 9 different colors in total....The white, red and green are shown but the other colors are available in the mainstore.

We have been working hard on a new line of clothing. We'll be releasing the first in an all new line, SLame! tees! They're cute and very very SL-abulous! Each week at least one new shirt will be released. Stay tuned for these tees!!

We've got JERSEY Dresses now added to our College Football line!!!

This is an ADORABLE dress that can also be worn as a cute top with shorts or jeans and offered at only L$250! Currently it's available in only three times but FL, GA, & TX will be added shortly.

Our game of the week? HA any of that know Alex & Kylie....know this wasn't a hard choice: Ohio State vs.Penn State. There's going to be a lot of trash talking between Alex & Kylie(It already has started....ask Ema or Erica) and one of us is going to be really $(#@#* off Saturday night.

Hey everyone!

OMG it's Kylie with a very Happy Halloween update about what's goin' on @ Alexohol and what's gonna be goin' on here in the next few weeks!

October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Alexohol, well Alex, organized Pretty In Pink- Second Life Vendors Banding Together to Raise Breast Cancer Awareness. Pretty In Pink Blog To the 60 vendors that participated, and to all vendors SL wide that I saw donation kiosks or other Making Strides for sale items we give you all a huge heartfelt *MUAH* from Alex, Ema, Erica & I. I'm still waiting on the official tally of what we were able to raise at Alexohol and some of the events we sponsored or participated in over the month and will announce it in a later post! Vendors, have a story to share or wanna let us know how much was raised at your shop or event? Let us know by whispering it into our naughty box at alexohol@yahoo.com. Thank you all so much to those who bought our items or just outright donated lindens! Wait? You don't have your save the ta-ta's tank or save second base tee? It's not too late, come by the mainstore and they will still be available, look upstairs!

Some of you may have seen outside our main entrance a donation box to support VFW Operation uplink. VFW Operation Uplink™ was launched in 1996 to connect active-duty troops and hospitalized veterans with their loved ones. The program uses contributions from supporters to purchase phone time for the men and women who are serving -- or have served -- this great nation, as well as hospitalized veterans.

Operation Uplink is able to provide these phone calls at US$ just 4 cents per minute. That's only 60 cents for a 15 minute phone call for an active-duty troop to be able to call home to a loved one. In L$, that would mean just L$10 for one minute or L$155 for a 15 minute call home. So, every donation definately makes a huge difference. Alexohol Fashions supports our troops and supports the VFW Operation Uplink™ to help our active-duty troops be able to make a phone call home to a loved one.

This kiosk has been outside our doors for a little over a month now and we hear from their organizers that we've got amongst the highest donation rate and 'hit' rate of anywhere they have information or donation centers set up and we truly appreciate each and everyone of you who has donated or made inquiry to what they're doing!

November hunts? I'm going to let Ema or Erica update those later. I'm so lost what hunts have started, when they are, whats in them..... yeah. That's probably best for everyone involved.

Heatwave is... well, heating up! Tomorrow is the first day that we'll be accepting the gifts. Look for a preview board at the mainstore soon as we get previews ready, etc. Check the blog THE HEATWAVE HUNT for previews and a list of participating shops anddddd, do you know a store that should be in? Help us get the word out! The application is there as well.

New dresses coming out soon! Did you like the addiction dress? You'll love afflicted then and soon after Rehabed and a line of mini dresses that also look great with just the top as a tank top! For the pretty kitties out there, we will have some neko exclusive clothing coming soon and stay tuned for details regarding an Alexohol ONLY hunt that will take place sometime in the month of November as we will be celebrating opening our 20th location!

We're excited to announce that our little family at Alexohol has grown and we've got a new bundle of joy!!!

Our bundle of joy comes in the form of Erica Harcourt who has graciously agreed to become our assistant Manager! She will be helping us out with various duties, stop by and say hello!

2010 Alexohol Calendar Contest

HEY BOYS & GIRLS!

2010 is fast approaching and we're in the beginning stages of doing a calendar for 2010 and we would like to pick a few of YOU, our fantastic Alexoholics, in there with the girls of Alexohol!!!!! The plans are to sell the calendar for something like 100L and divide the lindens between a couple of charities.

So, here's what you need to do:

Deadline is NOV 20th! Nothing will be accepted after this date!

1. Get a pic of YOU in Alexohol clothing. It can be anything: jerseys, bikinis, tanks, tops, dresses or whatever your favorite outfit is! Yes, we know we do not do hair, jewelry, shoes or other accessories like that.. but the tops and bottoms MUST be alexohol... if it's not, we're tossing it out, no exceptions. And sorry, we're mature/adult here.. no kiddies! Oh and do us a favor...make it a frontal shot :) Thanks!

The pic doesn't need to be over the top with a background, etc.. really what we'll be looking for are the clothes with your skin, eyes, shape and hair. Also, unless the pic calls for it you must be willing to remove tats, piercings, collars, tails, or ears (what a strange world this is).

2. Send that pic inserted into a notecard (either copy and paste this info or contact Ema Jayaram for the notecard app) with the following info filled out:

Each 2hr event starts with 300$L contest money and can go up from there! They've asked us to put up our pretty in pink vendor board with our making strides clothing up and it's there! Right by the giant pink heel! They feature country music and oldies in a pretty little ranch setting! Get on yer pink, yer boots and hat and mosey on over!
